Why community spirit is the driving force for Castledene Transport

As a longstanding local family run business of 45 years, being part of our local community and nurturing the relationships we have with our neighbours is very important to us. So, we actively look for ways to improve our local surroundings, help contribute to our local community, and leave a lasting and positive impact. Read on to find out more about what we do and most importantly, what drives us to do it.

 Adopting Aylesford train station

We proudly support the Kent Community Rail Partnership which is part of the Community Rail Network, set up to provide support and funding to help connect communities with their local railways and improve the facilities that they offer.

Castledene Transport’s Mill Hall depot is situated alongside Aylesford train station, so we decided to join  a group set up to adopt the train station to make the facility better for commuters and the local community by ?? flower planters/cleaning facilities – Nicky please can you expand?

Brightening up Maidstone Barracks train station

We have also supported a  project organised by Maidstone Borough Council with Kent Community Rail Partnership to commission a mural designed by street artist Graham Upton on the railway bridge at Buckland Hill, a walkway from Maidstone Barracks station. The project enlisted the help of local students from Grow 19 who spent a day whitewashing the base coat and we provided additional funding for the anti-graffiti coating. This resulted in a brighter, cleaner and more welcoming entrance into the centre of Maidstone, for commuters and visitors, which is a great improvement for the town as whole.

Supporting budding footballers at Aylesford FC

We understand how vital it is that local children have the ability and facilities to play sports during their youth and beyond. This is why we have proudly sponsored Aylesford Under 13s football club for xx years.

 

We are always looking for ways to enrich the places and people that make up our local community. The family values that are instilled into the whole team at Castledene Transport means investing and improving the local area is a source of pride and we hope to contribute a lot more over the next 45 years as a haulage business.
